Last Friday saw another birthday pass by. Now, you may remember last year (the big 50) Neil organised a big birthday party with 60 guests, and we had Craig & Cadey over, and it was a really good night.
So, how do you top that - have a local bar coincidentally organise a Flamenco Party for over 80 people on the very day!
So, after a really good day on the golf course, it was time to 'get dressed up'.
A few weeks ago we had been to Villaricos market where there is a stall with loads and loads of Flamenco dresses (€30) and skirts (€20). I tried a few dresses on but they were so heavy, lovely but heavy) so I decided to get a skirt which meant I could wear a summery top and keep a little cooler.
Anyway, this is the skirt I bought!
This gave me a range of colours to choose from for accessories and a top. I found a lovely black top, green beads and earrings and then a needed a proper fan - not a €1 for 3 cheapy. So, I treated myself - a whole €7 - but it matches my mantón!
The flowers were a finishing touch for my hair.
And of course, we couldn't leave Lucy out. So, a couple of weeks ago we were back at Villaricos market, another skirt, another top - more jewellry!
And finally, we had to have a handsome escort - €3 on a hat for Neil - there , sorted.
Put it altogether and this is how we looked!
So, another good birthday over for another year. Feliz cumpleaños a mi.

We could've driven down to celebrate with you. Glad you had such a great fun time. I finally had a 'sort of' celebratoy 60th, very belated at a nice restaurant with friends on June 10th. There were 10 of us. I'll post pics on my blog of the motley crew.
Sorry Janice, never thought. WIth it not being a 'big' birthday I wasn't planning anything and then they went and organised a Flamenco Party that just happened to be on the night - so hey, it seemed an obvious place to go. One of my friends here wouldn't go so we were actually out last night for my borthday meal with friends at a lovely Italian restaurant in Aguilas. Food was excellent although I did find the service irritatingly slow, even by Sapnish standards.
Odd you mentioned slow service in the Italian restaurant as we went three times to a new Italian by us & each time service was awfully slow. However portions were big so needed time to digest & we were with friends so we chatted a lot & caught up on things so hardly noticed (I lie. I like time inbetween courses BUT when a slice of icecream takes 20 mins THAT is crazy).
I think I could cope with waiting 20 mins for postre, but we were having trouble getting drinks! The waiter was too busy watching some spanish soap on a large TV set they had on the bar, which meant he had his back to us - not easy to attract his attention without shouting!
You need to give up drinking quite obviously, ha ha !
Have a safe trip to the UK.
Chat soon.
