Gales force winds batter Spain

The last couple of days have seen us battered with high winds, the worst we have had since we arrived. It's the first time we have seen structural damage - roof tiles smashed on the roads, garden furniture blown over fences into the road, trees blown down etc. We have been getting gusts in excess of 100mph and this is all across Spain and southern France. It is very sad that there have been deaths in parts of Spain including some children who had taken shelter in a sports centre when the roof collapsed.

These high winds are forecast through to Tuesday when they calm down for a few days and come back next weekend.

So far we have been lucky that nothing structural has been damaged at the villa but we have had lots of things in the garden moved around and the dogs have been barking like mad at carrier bags that fly across the garden in the winds.

Can't see us being on the golf course in the morning, it's not a course to play in strong winds.
