The Ferry Journey

I think Brinkley describes the ferry journey pretty well (see http://2littlepuppies.blogspot .com), it was long and we weren't happy for the pups.

All along I had concerns over whether we would have problems at customs with Brandy not having his full passport. Although we didn't need the passport to go out to Spain, there was always that question mark at the back of my mind. However, on the day there were no problems. When we arrived at the ferry port we were given a label to hang from the rear view mirror that basically indicated there were 2 adults and 2 dogs in the car so that when we got to customs and they asked for the paperwork, they knew what they were looking for. I passed over our 2 passports, Brinkley's passport and Brandy's vaccination record...... and held my breath.

The customs official looked at all the documents, asked when we would be bringing the dogs back and when I said we were doing a one-way trip, passed them all back to me and wished us a good trip. What a sense of relief as we drove on to the ferry.

The trip was long, but we had calm waters and so it was relatively straight forward. We'll leave any further comment on the trip to Brinkley on his Blog, and just be glad it's over and we don't have a return trip to do.

We drove from the bowels of the ferry into bright Spanish sunshine, and on to Spanish soil - we had arrived!

All we needed to do now was swap maps and remember to drive on the right side of the road. A quick check that the dogs were settled and we set off for our days drive through the north of Spain to Teruel.

Glad you're enjoying life there. Have read lots from you here, in the pups blog, from your emails & EOS so feel I'm with you in that sunshine.

Take care.
